These terms cover your use of AkomaSMS. By sending a message through the platform you accept them.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything sent with your API keys. Keep your credentials private and tell us immediately if you believe they have been exposed.
Credits
- Credits are bought in advance. One credit sends one message segment.
- A longer message is split into several segments and costs one credit per segment.
- Credits are consumed when a message is accepted for delivery, not when it is read.
- If we refuse or cancel a message before it is sent, the credits are returned to your wallet.
- Credits are not exchangeable for cash.
Sender IDs
A sender ID must be approved before it can be used, and must represent your own business. We refuse sender IDs that impersonate banks, networks, government bodies or other organisations. An approved sender ID may be suspended if it is later used to mislead recipients.
What you may not send
- Messages that request a PIN, password, one-time code or card details.
- Messages claiming to be from an organisation you are not.
- Prize, lottery or investment offers that are not genuine.
- Messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you, or who have opted out.
- Anything unlawful, or prohibited by the mobile networks.
Outgoing messages are screened automatically. A message may be held for review or refused. Repeated attempts to send fraudulent messages will close your account, and we may report the activity to the networks or the authorities.
Consent
You confirm that everyone you message has agreed to receive messages from you, and that you will act on opt-out requests promptly. You are the data controller for your recipient lists; we process that data on your instructions.
Service availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. Delivery also depends on the mobile networks, which are outside our control. We are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the credits you have purchased in the previous three months.
Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Unused credits are not refunded when an account is closed for a breach.
